Josh Strauss – USA – Artist in Residence

Josh’s poignant documentary style photographic stories connect with the human element on the scene, be it in the fore- or background of the action and like a skilled anthropologist, he exploits the unique mood of talent, cast and crew as they are revealed behind the scenes or backstage.

Creative Process

This is a series of images of the sculptor Raffael Lomas and his work photographed by Josh Strauss using double exposures.

The photographs manifest the creative process. The crystallization of the process is expressed by the different interactions between the artist and the art piece documenting the vibration of creation.

The series has two parts: Yotser Or- creator of light; and Bore choshech- creator of darkness.

Our mission

The meaning of 'Home' has become ever more elusive and complex, especially in these times of financial uncertainty, rapid technological developments and extreme urban change. The HomeBase Project creates a unique platform for a multi-disciplinary artistic exploration of the notion of home as the foundation of humanity. It aims to foster a sense of interconnectedness in society through the arts, awaken social responsibility and integrate contemporary art into everyday urban living.
